Ms. Melanie Culver, Assistant Principal
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! I am pleased to serve as the new assistant principal of Quail Valley Elementary School! I look forward to working with staff, students, and parents as a collaborative school community to ensure continued student achievement.
My educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of California, at Los Angeles (UCLA—Go Bruins!) and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Chapman University. I have been an educator for the past 12 1/2 years, teaching grades K, 1, 4, and 5 in the Los Angeles Unified, Lancaster, and Palmdale School Districts. I have been with the Palmdale School District for the past three years, serving as an administrative intern and classroom teacher at Barrel Springs Elementary School.
I am excited about being involved in leading and supporting the educational program here at Quail Valley. I look forward to the upcoming school year, as we all strive to help each student reach his/her full academic potential! I believe professional learning communities, rigorous instruction, and high expectations will enable us to reach this goal and give our students the best possible foundation for the future!
