• FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL

Greetings Oak Tree Community Day School Families,

I am Dr. Beverley Martin and I’m extremely excited to be your Principal for the 2018-2019
school year. This is my 17 th  year in education. I have taught all grades K-6, have served in
the capacity of Learning Support Teacher, Administrative Intern, Assistant Principal and
now your Principal. My educational background includes a Doctorate in Educational
Leadership from Fresno State University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration
and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Bakersfield University and a
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Medgar Evers College. Education is
near and dear to my heart, as I grew up in a home where both my parents were educators
as well as my five older siblings.

I strongly believe that students benefit the most when parents, teachers, staff and
administrators work together to provide meaningful learning and rich experiences in and
outside of school. You are a huge part of our success!  Research proves that parent
involvement increases student achievement and enriches the school community. Through
this teaming effort, we will make tremendous progress for all. As a parent, I understand the
challenges that come with raising a family and it’s my goal to work with you, to ensure a
safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning and growth. I look forward to meeting
our entire school community as the year progresses.

Thank you for taking the time to view our website. If you have additional time and have not
done so already, please check out our district website and view our strategic plan called
“The Palmdale Promise”.  Finally, thank you for entrusting your children with us to prepare
them for 21 st  Century learning.
