Migrant Ed Program Goals:

  • The goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure that migrant students receive the skills and knowledge to enable them to achieve academic success. More specifically, the program:
    • Helps migrant children improve in the areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking in English and in their primary language when possible
    • Helps migrant children successfully complete a K-12 instructional program
    • Helps migrant children develop a desire for learning now and in the future
    • Encourages migrant children to continue education after high school
    • Prepares preschool children for a successful school experience

    Assists parents to become active supporters of and participants in their child's education

    All of the above have an underlying goal of building self-esteem, confidence, motivation, learning skills and ultimately preventing school drop out.
