    Greetings Ocotillo Elementary School Families,

I am Dr. Beverley Martin and I’m extremely excited to be your Principal for the 2020-2021 school year. This is my 18th year in education and I have taught all grades K-6, I have served in the capacity of Learning Support Teacher, Administrative Intern, Assistant Principal, and now your Principal. My educational background includes a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Fresno State University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from California State University Bakersfield (CSUB) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Medgar Evers College in New York. Education is near and dear to my heart, as I grew up in a home where both of my parents were educators, as well as my five siblings.

I strongly believe that students benefit the most when parents, teachers, staff, and administrators work together to provide meaningful learning and rich experiences in and outside of school. You are a huge part of our success!  Research proves that parent involvement increases student achievement and enriches the school community. Through this teaming effort, we will make tremendous progress for all. As a parent, I understand the challenges that come with raising a family and it’s my goal to work with you, to ensure a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning and growth. I look forward to meeting our entire school community as the year progresses.

Thank you for taking the time to view our website. If you have additional time and have not done so already, please check out our district website and view our strategic plan called “The Palmdale Promise”.  Finally, thank you for entrusting your children with us to prepare them for 21 st Century learning.

    Hello.

I’m Dionne Pomerleau, an Antelope Valley native, born and raised here. I attended Desert Rose Elementary, Park View Middle School, Lancaster High School, and Antelope Valley College. My roots run deep in the AV community and after graduating from the University of Redlands I came home to start my teaching career...eighteen years ago now! I spent the first fifteen years in the Lancaster School District, but I am very excited to call Palmdale School District my home now. I come to OC from JH where I spent two years as the Assistant Principal. I look forward to working with the students and families here at Ocotillo as your new Assistant Principal.

    Go Panthers!
