I am Susan Summers, proud to be the Principal of Palmdale Learning Plaza. The only International Bachelorette School in the Antelope Valley offers a Primary Years Program (PYP) and a Middle Years Program (MYP). I joined the Palmdale School District in 1996 and taught several different general education grades. I moved into administration in 2013 and have served at three schools in the Palmdale School District. I attended California State University Bakersfield, where I received my Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies and received my Masters in Administration from Chapman University. I am a proud parent of two sons, both Firefighters. I am also a proud Nana to my young grandson. I enjoy spending time with my family camping, traveling, and making memories.
I enjoy every new school year at Palmdale Learning Plaza. I am very excited to be part of the Puma family, where teachers are enthusiastic about teaching IB and have a heart for all students. Our staff’s dedication earned PLP the Capturing Kids Hearts National Showcase School Award. PLP is a fantastic school where students learn by inquiry. We also include IB traits and attitudes monthly. The IB profile aims to develop learners who are inquirers, thinkers, caring, open-minded, risk-takers, balanced and reflective. At PLP, we believe that all students can learn. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and positive environment and to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
I am excited for this year and look forward to serving our Puma community!

My name is Ruth Giron-Wong, and I am elated to be part of the Palmdale Learning Plaza team of dedicated education professionals.
I began my career in education as a college mentor for high school students. I continued my studies at Cal State Los Angeles, earning a BA in Psychology and a clear teaching credential in Spanish. My educational experience has expanded for over 20 years. My first years of teaching started at the Middle School level, teaching math. I then went on to teach high school Spanish for 10 years. I also had the honor to work with the Upward Bound program at UC Berkeley for 2 summers, teaching math.
My administrative career started as the Coordinator for Early Childhood Education with the Mountain View School District in El Monte. I have worked as an assistant principal in both K-5 & K-8 dual immersion schools. I love supporting teachers to enhance our students' academic growth and working directly with families to build community. As Palmdale Learning Plaza's assistant principal, I am incredibly fortunate to continue supporting the Palmdale school district, teachers, students, and families this new year.
