Welcome to Barrel Springs Elementary!
As we embark on our first year together, let me start by telling you that I am honored and fortunate to serve as the Principal of Barrel Springs Elementary. Barrel Springs is a place where strong connections are made between home and school. It is also a place where all staff members are committed to helping students learn and succeed every day.
I would like to take the opportunity to share a little about myself. I was born in Guatemala and immigrated to the United States with my family at a young age. Coming from another country has not only taught me the value of my culture but also to appreciate and understand other cultures. I hold a Master’s of Science in Administration from Pepperdine University. I am in my second year as a doctoral student at the California State University, Northridge.
I firmly value and believe in the Palmdale Promise where we need to prepare all students for 21st-century learning while providing equity to all students and building on students’ strengths and culture. In addition, the most important aspects of my work as Principal of Barrel Springs is continuing to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and teachers as well as the community. It is for that reason, that it is very important for me, as well as Mr. Reyes-Gonzalez, our Assistant Principal, to be in the hallways, classrooms, on the playground and in the lunchroom building relationships with our students throughout the day and year. I firmly believe open communication is very important in a school, and for this reason, I will always encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher, to a member of the office staff, our assistant principal, or to me with any questions you may have.
At Barrel Springs, we have many things to be proud of and I look forward to working with you as a team. I am also excited for a great school year filled with many celebrations. Thank you in advance for an incredible school year. Let’s keep our students reading, writing, and problem-solving throughout the school year.
