As the new Assistant Principal at Tumbleweed Elementary, I feel enthusiastic and honored to serve its community, the students, teachers, parents, and staff. I truly believe that learning is the segue to a successful future for all students. It is important to prepare our students with the skills that provide an accomplished life where they settle in a career that promotes and enhances their natural gifts. I have been in the education field for over ten years. I served as a third, fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade teacher including multiple combination classes. For the past six years, I have been teaching in a Dual Immersion School teaching all content areas in Spanish. Part of my experience includes several leadership roles such as grade level leader, PETA representative, Math lead, ELA lead, GATE lead, CyberQuest coach, and admin intern. I also helped implement a reading intervention program in Spanish to close the achievement gap for students who needed extra support. I will continue to encourage students to become the best they can be academically, socially, and emotionally. I am committed to providing a productive learning environment where students feel motivated to be in school every day. Students have always been the driving force in all my decisions as an educator. I have a growth mindset where I continuously improve my effectiveness for those I serve. With this position, I look forward to expanding my knowledge and practice new ways to invest in the education of our students.
