• PACS - COUNSELORS

Our counselors aim to ensure that all students reach their full potential.

Counselor - Guide and support our students on their educational and career goals.

  • Welcome to Palmdale Academy Charter School! I'm thrilled to introduce myself as the high school counselor dedicated to guiding and supporting our students on their educational journey. With over 10 years of experience in the field of education, I am committed to fostering a nurturing and empowering environment that enables every student to thrive. I embarked on my educational path at California State University, Northridge, where I earned a teaching credential. I spent five enriching years teaching at both the elementary and middle school levels.

My dedication to helping students reach their full potential led me to pursue further education at California State University, San Bernardino. There, I earned a Masters in Guidance Counseling and obtained a PPS (Pupil Personnel Services) credential. This training equipped me with the skills to address not only academic needs but also the crucial social and emotional aspects of a student's life.

As I continue to expand my expertise, I am currently in the process of obtaining a License in Professional Clinical Counseling. This additional qualification will further enhance my ability to provide comprehensive support to students as they navigate the complexities of their high school years.

My overarching mission at Palmdale Academy Charter School is to empower students in three critical areas: academic success, social and emotional well-being, and college and career readiness. I firmly believe that a holistic approach to education is essential for nurturing well-rounded individuals who are prepared to excel in both their educational pursuits and personal lives. Whether you need help with classes, personal matters, or future plans, I'm here for you.

Looking forward to helping you thrive during your time at Palmdale Academy!

  • Hello, I am Ms. Roman, the 11th-grade counselor at Palmdale Academy Charter School. My education includes a dual Bachelor's degree in Education and Chicano/Latino Studies from UC Irvine and a Masters Degree in Educational Counseling with a PPS Credential from the University of La Verne. Before working at P.A.C.S., I worked as a guidance technician, substitute teacher, A.V.I.D. tutor, and instructional aide over the past ten years. As the 11th-grade counselor, I help your student(s) with any social/emotional, academic, and career/college concerns. My goal is to help our students thrive throughout their educational careers and pursue whichever post-high-school pathway they want to take.

  • Hello! My name is Melinda Wannes, and I am one of the new school counselors at PACS. I have two master’s degrees in biology and counseling. I have worked in the educational field for over ten years and at all grade levels, including primary, secondary, and higher grade levels. Sadly, I have noticed students nationwide are losing their motivation to learn. This gives me the experience as a counselor to help my students with their academic, career, and social-emotional domains. Success should not stop at graduating high school, so I strive to help students gain independence to achieve their goals and learn how to advocate for themselves for their futures. Times have changed, and my goal is to help students find their purpose and show them I care not only about their success but also about them.
