A Message from Chris Burton, ECE Assistant Administrator
It is with great excitement that I welcome all students and parents to a new school year at the Palmdale School District’s Early Childhood Education program. I am one of two ECE Assistant Administrator’s and I’m excited and ready to ensure that your child has a positive first time school experience and to prepare them for the world of education.
I have worked for the Palmdale School District for 16 years. I started my teaching years at Yucca Elementary School teaching 4th and 5th grade as well as Kindergarten. After 7 seven years with the Yucca family, I became a Curriculum Resource Teacher and Special Projects Teacher, for three years, at Summerwind Elementary and then a Language Support Teacher, at Chaparral Elementary, before being promoted to an Assistant Principal position. My first year, as an Assistant Principal, I served both Golden Poppy Elementary and Desert Willow Intermediate, two years at Desert Rose, and then moving to David G. Millen Intermediate, before joining the Early Childhood Education family in November of 2015.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of the Arts Degree in Liberal Studies-Education, a clear multiple subject teaching credential, as well as a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both obtained from the California State University, Bakersfield. I also possess a California clear administrative credential.
Our program’s goal, at the Early Childhood Education, is to prepare your child both socially and academically so they will leave “Ready for Kindergarten.” I feel we are off to a great start and I am looking forward to working with our students, parents, teachers, staff, and the community for a successful 2016-2017 school year.
