• A Message from Lisa Fowler, ECE Assistant Administrator


    Welcome to the Palmdale School District’s Early Childhood Education program.  I am excited to be part of the Early Childhood Education Department (ECE).  With the mindset of Capturing Kids Hearts and the continuous implementation of CLASS, Palmdale School District ECE is working toward being the best Early Childhood program in the state.

     I have worked for the Palmdale School District (PSD) for 20 years.  Before working for the PSD, I worked as a pre-school teacher and coordinator for the San Fernando Park and Recreation.  I started with PSD as a teacher for Tamarisk Elementary School and taught there for 12 years in grades 1st – 5th.   In 2008, I was promoted as an Instructional Coach/Learning Support Teacher for Barrel Springs Elementary School where I supported and mentored the teachers and provided intervention to the “at risk” K – 6th grade students. After enjoying teaching at Tamarisk for 12 years, I soon felt right at home with the staff at Barrel Springs.    I was also an Administrative Intern from 2007 – 2014 before becoming Barrel Springs Elementary School Assistant Principal.  

     In January of 2015, I was given the opportunity to become the Assistant Administrator for the ECE program in which I am loving every minute of it.   Now ECE is my new home and I am honored to be a part of the ECE family.  I plan on helping to make the ECE program one of the best in the state.  We have a fantastic team here and I am proud to be working alongside of them.  We, as a team, are devoted to capture each and every child and our decision-makings are based on what is best for the children. 

     My educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Education Administration with a clear multiple subject teaching credential.  I also have a California Clear Administrative Credential along with my Gifted and Talented Education Certificate.  In addition, I am trained and certified in Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) which is an assessment tool that is utilized to support the classroom environment to improve student learning.  

    Although, I feel extremely lucky to have worked with such caring individuals in the elementary sites, it is great to be back in Early Childhood.
