From the Desk of the Assistant Principal
Hello Cactus Coyotes,
My name is Marginese Streeter. I have been a school administrator in the Palmdale School District since August 2014. I am very excited to begin a new school year as an Assistant Principal here at Cactus Middle School.
Since my childhood, my father has always instilled the importance of an education, and that is why I have always had a true passion for learning. When I was a child, I opened my own school in the garage at my parents' house and started teaching my four younger siblings and peers in the neighborhood. As a result, when I graduated from high school, I decided that I wanted to become a teacher.
So I started working towards my Associate of Arts degree at the Antelope Valley College. Once I got my Associates degree I continued with my Bachelor of Arts from the California State University of Long Beach, where I received a B.A. in Liberal Studies. Then I started teaching for the Los Angeles Unified School District. I taught grades K-5 for 15 years. During this time, I continued my education and pursued my master's degree in Social Foundations of Education at California State University of Los Angeles. I also attended National University and received my administrative credential.
I have been in the field of education for over 20 years. As an educator, it is my number one priority to provide our students with a safe learning environment, where they can learn to their fullest potential, while keeping their feet firmly planted on the ground. This year is an exciting time for me here at Cactus, as I have met many of the wonderful students, parents and staff.
It is at this time I would like to encourage all involved to continue building relationships to lay the foundation for student success as we prepare our students to become global citizens, who are career and college ready. I look forward to having a great 2018-2019 school year at Cactus!
