• From the Desk of the Principal:

Welcome Bulldogs to Barrel Springs Elementary. I am Dr. Kim Wright the principal of Barrel Springs Elementary.  I received my Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Journalism in 1997, from CSUN and received my Teaching Credential and Master’s Degree in Educational Administration in 2001.  I recently completed my doctorate in K-12 Education & Administration from USC.  I have been an employee of the Palmdale School District for almost twenty years.

From a very young age, I was always told that I have a gift of teaching.  I believe I was called to be an educator and I began teaching for the Palmdale School District at Chaparral Elementary for several years and taught grades 2nd, 4th, and 6th. In addition, I was an administrative intern for 3 years at Chaparral School and began working as an assistant principal in 2001 at several schools for the Palmdale School District.  I have just completed my eleventh year as a principal, five years at Tamarisk Elementary and I have served as the principal at Barrel Springs for six wonderful years.

I believe that all students can learn at high levels with the support from parents working together with educators.  Our goal is to provide many opportunities for success with access and equity to a 21st Century education.  I look forward to working with our families, staff, and community here at Barrel Springs, where we have the best students anywhere!

    With Bulldog Pride,

    Dr. Wright
