Assistant Principal

Hello!  I am Ruth Ann Marks, and I am extremely excited to serve as your Assistant Principal.  I bring 28 years of dedicated experience to my leadership role within the Palmdale School District. My extensive career in the district began as a Special Education Instructional Aide, followed by impactful years teaching at Cimarron Elementary School and Cactus Magnet Academy, where her commitment to excellence was recognized with the 2017 Teacher of the Year award. In July 2022, after earning my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, I transitioned to the PSD Leadership Team to further support the district's vision and mission and student academic growth.

Beyond my professional achievements, I am a devoted wife, mother of three adult children, and a proud grandmother. My personal life deeply informs my educational philosophy: I believe each day presents unique opportunities for growth and that challenges are essential for building strength of character. I am a staunch advocate for safe, nurturing, and inclusive environments where cultural diversity enriches the learning process. By fostering strong partnerships between parents, teachers, and administrators, I am committed to ensuring every student has access to the meaningful and supportive educational experiences they need to excel.
