Assistant Principal

Dear David G. Millen Staff, Students, Families, and Community,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new and proud Assistant Principal of David G. Millen Intermediate School. I am excited to join this community and look forward to partnering with our students, staff, and families to support student success.

I have dedicated more than 15 years to education, beginning my career as a middle school science teacher before transitioning to the high school level. Throughout my career, I have served students in a variety of educational settings, including traditional schools, continuation education, and adult education. My journey has also included roles as a Science Department Chair, teacher mentor, WASC Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and most recently, High School Principal.

I am passionate about creating safe, supportive, and academically challenging learning environments where every student feels known, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. I also have a strong commitment to STEM education and expanding opportunities that help students connect their learning to future college, career, and real-world possibilities.

I hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California, a Master’s degree in Educational Foundations from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. While these experiences have shaped me as an educator and leader, I believe strong schools are built through relationships, trust, and meaningful partnerships with families and the community.

 

Returning to a middle school community is especially meaningful to me because it brings me back to where my career in education began. I look forward to being visible, approachable, and actively engaged in the daily life of David G. Millen while supporting our students during this important stage of growth and discovery.
